Pelican Hill Resort Wedding, Newport Coast – Shana and Hendrick

Shana and Hendrick are amazing people and were such a pleasure to work with over the last year and a half. I really got a chance to know them at the engagement session. Afterwards we went by Cole’s downtown and had a couple drinks. Then they hired me to shoot the rehearsal dinner where I got to meet a lot of friends/bridal party and their family. Many people traveled from South Africa to celebrate the weekend with them. Hendrick is originally from outside Cape Town. We had a perfect day at Pelican Hill Resort! We even did a quick session at Crystal Cove beach. I loved all the little flower girls in wedding. We also had an awesome vendor lineup which is listed below.

2010 WPPI Mentor Session

I finally got around to finishing all my processing from the Mentor Session in Las Vegas. We had an amazing group of people and I want to thank everyone involved. Summer of Grey Likes Weddings made a great post a couple days ago. My models/clients/friends Diane and Kevin just got married last weekend in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at an amazing place called Villa Verono. Anna our bride model was a bridesmaid and in full effect! I look forward to getting those images out soon, enjoy.

Baton Rouge Wedding – Hector and Beth

Here’s a little teaser from my buddy Hector’s wedding in Baton Rouge. As the “Bestman”, invitation designer and part-time photographer I had a lot to do the week of the wedding. Not to mention plan a batcholer party in New Orleans, that was tough but rewarding… Hector and Beth didn’t want to see each other the day of the wedding so we did a pre-shoot at Beth’s friends historic plantation home called Sandbar. It is across the river from downtown on Old River Road and sits on the now levied bank of the mighty Mississippi River. Here’s one of my favorites and more to come soon!

Bacara Resort Wedding, Santa Barbara – Elizabeth and Christian

Lizzie and Christian tied the knot in Santa Barbara a few months ago. Bacara is an amazing resort tucked away on the coast just north of the city. The property, service, grounds, views and rooms are all top notch. I felt right at home at this wedding since half the guests were from Kentucky. Lizzie grew up in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky. She was also Miss Kentucky in 2002. You might remember her from the WPPI Mentor Shoot in the desert. We had really fun bridal party to photograph and both families were good fun! Susan MacDonald and her team keep things running smooth all day and night.

Paris Photography Workshop – Day 2

On day 2 we photographed two different couples with two very different styles. The first session we did a mock getting ready and first meeting and shot close to the hotel and around Champs-Elysees. Then with the second session we had a nice walking route with the couple that included the Louvre. Enjoy!

Pelican Hill Wedding, Newport Coast – Tara and Andy

Tara and Andy got married at Pelican Hill over Labor Day weekend last month. We had an absolutely gorgeous day for a wedding in Orange County. This was a really fun bridal party! Andy had a lot of his family and groomsmen over from England. There was a very cute ‘Love’ theme for the wedding. Andy is a huge Beatles fan so “All you need is love”… My soap reminds me every morning at the moment. Their favors very good smelling and very large bars of LOVE soap. I’ve been using it everyday since the wedding. Anyway, there were also 40 doves released at the ceremony and lots Beatles love songs. The décor was very beautiful with purples and greens. Nisie at Enchanted florist did an amazing job with the design which included fabulous linens from Wildflower. Gini Garner was also on the scene keeping the show on track. Enjoy!

This was one smokin’ group of Bridesmaids! There were certainly enough of them too… The bride, Elizabeth Arnold was Miss Kentucky in 2002. We also have Miss Georgia, Miss Toronto, and an America’s Next Top Model. Then a sexy sister maid of honor and all the other beautiful Kentucky and California friends! Wow…

This photo was just a quick edit the night I got home from the wedding from my jpg files. I’ll probably do a cleaner final version. I merged five separate shots for one composite image. I only had one video light so I had Regis spot the girls in groups of two and three while I took the shots from the same position and focal length.
