Seattle Engagement Session, Amy and Joel

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Amy and Joel around some cool sites in Seattle, Washington. If you watch the news in Seattle you may recognize them… They are both local new reporters in the field. We had a great day for shooting! The weather was cold and snow just the week before. We started on top of Joel’s work building. It’s almost directly under the space needle. Then we hit Pike’s Place Market, never a bad spot.

After our session we made a quick stop at Elysian Brewery before heading to The Metropolitan Grill for dinner. Elysian had a great craft beers, the Stout was amazing. The food was pleasantly suspiring as well. The chicken nachos held us over before steak. The Metropolitan is considered the best steak in the city. I definitely held up it’s reputation!

St. John Restaurant – Fergus Henderson

A while back some friends and I got inspired by some “Old World” traditions which lead to our Fete du Cochon. The photos are a little sensitive to post on the blog so I’ve never shared. During our research we found acclaimed chef Fergus Henderson and his first book ‘Nose to Tail Eating’. Fergus has a restaurant in London called St. John so while in town last week I had to check it out. Rachael and I really enjoyed it! We ate at the bar where the menu changes daily. Everything was amazing, I even got a signed copy of the first book!

Armagnac Ducastaing XO and a English hand-tap beer. The bread was amazing.
