There’s one place I call home and it very dear to my heart, Kentucky! For those who have never been or spent time in our great state, it’s worth the trip. There is a lot of culture: horse racing, bourbon, food, arts & crafts, music, lakes, mountains and I could go on and on… Most importantly the people are friendly! Famous Kentuckians include the likes of: Abraham Lincoln, Hunter Thompson, Diane Sawyer, Muhammad Ali, Kit Carson, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Ashley Judd, Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe, Florence Henderson, Tom Cruise, Keith Whitley, Dwight Yoakam and more…
Anyway, I brought the family back to my home town of Manchester, Clay County. In Kentucky we refer to everything by the county instead of the city unless you are from Lexington or Louisville (Pronounced lu-veul). There are 120 counties in Kentucky, that’s a lot for such a small state. The kids are having a blast shooting BB guns, fishing, whittling sticks with there new pock-knives and building bonfires. Below are a few shots take out our friends cabin in Foggertown.
Happy Birthday to my awesome wife!

Look at that massive Bluegill! Later he pulled up a couple crawdads too.

Sammy’s honing his skills at ‘Cornhole’ so he can beat James.

I shot some fun photos of Rach in the country. We even had a golden retriever extra, thanks Tucker!

You can’t beat the texture of barn wood, I love it.

A couple months ago I attended the SEO Workshop that Lawrence conducted in Orange County at the Ritz-Carlton. I really enjoyed learning about the way Google works and ‘Search Engine Optimization.’ All the information you need to know is condensed into a one-day seminar and laid out for everyone to understand. I immediately implemented the techniques they showed us and saw results even before leaving the Ritz! Since then I’ve back dated a lot of my blog posts and optimized them for Google and other search engines. I have seen results! I have gotten inquiries directly from Google searches. Including a job taking me to Rome, Italy in November and the One and Only Palmilla in Cabo in February. So I encourage everyone to check it out… There are a few spots left and registration closes soon!

Engagement
Last week I shot Stephanie and Sam’s engagement session at USC. They went to school there and actually met in Spain during a study abroad program through the college. We tried to beat the college rush by shooting before class started but campus was still crawling with people. Not too mention the international student orientations and concert in the quad. We still managed to get our photos done quickly, under an hour… Then we went for a drink downtown at there “go to” place called Rivera. It’s only fitting that they would love a modern Latin inspired restaurant with a killer bar! Stephanie and Sam had a couple awesome cocktails and I had a Thomas Handy Rye neat. Check out these photos and stay tuned for their wedding at the Ritz-Carlton in September.

Jessica’s 30th birthday party was a blast! We when old school playground style. Her fiance, Jeff, and I teamed up to plan the party, we had team shirts, headbands, the works. We started off with a kickball game then moved onto the beach for hotdogs, smores and a bonfire! Jeff and I were the team captains and since I hate to lose, there was a bit of competition. We won despite one of my higher draft picks, Mark Brooke, leaving me high and dry on game day! Here are the pics from Jessica blog, shot by her, Michael and others.

Pre-game huddles. I went through my line up and strategy with my team.

Fierce!

Check out that kick by the one and only Doug Boutwell.

Followed by none other than Michael Norwood.

Everyone was the number 30.

Jasmine made the catch! Becker was rubbing it in on Tom a bit!

We had a sweet pyramid going!

Here are some of the couple from the day!
