Here are some of my favorites from before, after and of course during the game!

I had to include this photo, Ronnie Lott was one of my favorite players growing up. No one hit harder in the open field!

Here’s Terrell in action before the game started!

I love the shot on the right, it was during the National Anthem and he was very moved…

Hill ran this one in for a touchdown on the opening drive.

It’s crazy how sharp the 400mm f2.8 lens is, you can even see the whites of his eyes as he tracks the receiver.

Johnson had this leaping catch on the last drive with 30 seconds left in the game to set up the field goal to win the game!

I had the amazing opportunity to shoot on the field at the San Francisco 49ers game yesterday. It was fast paced, intense and an all around awesome experience. Special ‘Thank You’ to my buddy Terrell Lloyd who hooked me up with a media pass. Terrell is one of the 49ers official photographers and this was his 10th season with the team. I couldn’t resist posting so here’s one shot of me after the game with the big guns! Stay tuned for a game action post tomorrow.

I shot this session in November before Thanksgiving and it was a ton of fun! Christine and Richard love to play golf. We didn’t have time for a real round so we decided to go putt-putting at Boomers in Irvine. We also got in the batting cages after, me included. I had to knock the dust off the ole’ swing! Christine got some sweet shots of me in action! Then we headed down to Laguna for some evening shots around downtown. I could not believe the sunset, it’s the best one I’ve seen in a while! Christine and Richard are getting married at the Resort at Pelican Hill next May. We are currently designing a cool golf ‘Save the Date’. Enjoy!

I barely made into Madison in front of a light snow storm. I spent a couple days with my sister and brother-in-law, of course you can’t forget Ollie their Jack Russell. We mostly stayed in and hung out, it was too cold to mess about… We made chili one night and hit a neighborhood bar the next night for dinner. They are both on the job hunt so we’ll see where they end up. Michelle has been in Madison for the last eight years getting her PhD in English.

Anyway, on to the wedding stuff… Angie is my friend Amiee’s sister. Amiee used to work at Wedding Life in Orange County. I went to Milwaukee on Thursday to hang out and get ready for the wedding on Friday. Despite the bleak weather we had an awesome shoot. It was such a great group and Angie and Ben were awesome! The location they chose was a beautiful old build in downtown Milwaukee. It severed as a place to trade and exchange ‘goods’ back in the day. Big thank you to Callie Crass for coming to shoot with me and drive me around the snowy town! Check some of my favorites from the day!

We hosted a few photographers last night for our 2nd Annual ‘White Elephant’ gift exchange. But this time we stepped it up with some UGLY sweaters! My friend James and I did a bit of cooking for the evening. We made two very rustic Tuscan dishes. We started with good fresh butchered meat from the Farmers Market. A ‘Boston Butt’ roast and a whole slab of bacon. Here are a couple shots of us cooking and a slideshow of all the ugliness floating around in the garage! You can also check out more photo on Jessica and Becker’s blogs.

James and I cutting up the slab of bacon for the Faggioli e Cottica which is like a bean stew that Julius Ceaser ate over 2000 years ago. We used one side of the bacon for the beans and the other side we seasoned, rolled, and tied to cure Panchetta. It should be yummy in about 3 months!

Here’s the pork roast, also known as a ‘Boston Butt’! It’s seasoned with Cajun spices, Grey salt, and Rosemary. We also inserted cloves of garlic into the middle of the meat.

Here’s the us incasing the roast in dough. We baked the roast for five hours and let it steam and stew inside the hard casing of the bread. This technique predates the crockpot!

I just literally cracked the bread with a hammer and I’m cutting a hole in the top so pull out piece of pork to serve. It was so juicy and falling apart, very tasty!

A couple of weeks ago I shot with Kristin and Nate at UCLA. It was during the fires the light was super warm and the air was stuffy so we had to make it a quick session. Nate was in town over Thanksgiving break from Michigan where he’s attending grad school. They brought the dogs and we had lots of fun! Their wedding is coming up in the spring at the St. Regis, Monarch Beach.

Christina and Joe had a great wedding day despite the on and off rain of rare Southern California thunder storms. We shot at their church in Van Nuys, then headed over to ‘Old Town’ Pasadena for a little photo safari! Just as we thought we were in the clear we got a hard down pour. But knowing a bit about thunderstorms being from Kentucky we decided to wait it out. The timing was perfect, and I captured a very beautiful and dramatic shot when the sun suddenly peaked through with stormy skies and the soooo picturesque Pasadena City Hall. Check out some of my favorites from day!
