It was such a beautiful day on Jana and Brad’s wedding day in Laguna Beach. We started the getting ready process at their place in Dana Point before heading over to Seven Degrees. We had a really fun bridal party and very relaxed shoot. My buddy Jason Jass from Vision Entertainment keep the party rockin’ all night! Jana and Brad worked really hard planning their event and it all paid off, except for the limo… Yeah, the limo didn’t show up at the end of the night after the sparkler exit. So I chaffered the couple to the St. Regis while they watch their wedding slideshow on my laptop in the back of the Navigator. I thought is was a pretty sweet deal!
Tanya and Joel had a very unique wedding at Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles. Tanya looked stunning in her red wedding dress! She is a very talented designer and with the help of Kevin Covey they put together an amazing event. Vibiana was the perfect location for their Venetian, Goth style. Tanya even hand painted a Carnivale mask for each guest which they not only wore but served as their reception placement card. Linda Goldsheft made a fabulous cake with a ton of detail. Enjoy…
Need I say more about a city built on canals, crazy! I only went into the city twice to kind of suss things out so when I take Rachael back for Carnivale I’ll know where everything is and I have a feel for the place. My base station was Camping Fusina where I hung out with my Kiwi buddy Marty and took some photos for the campground. Pretty amazing place within itself… As it would have it a lot of the major sites in Venice were under major construction. A few things I didn’t get to photograph including; the Bridge of Sighs, wide shot of San Marco Square, and Basilica di San Marco I guess that’s Europe, a price comes with being so old and historic. Below are just a few of my favorites.
This is the only female Gondola driver in Venice!
These two above are from the tower at San Maro Square.
The Grand Canal in Venice is a very busy in transit all day. Every boat you can image; Gondolas, delivery vessils, floating cranes, police boats, fire boats, ferrys, and taxis! The yellow floating cabin in the distance is a ferry stop of public transit, just like a subway system.
This is the symbol of Venice… The Winged Lion of St. Mark.
Although it was a different UK than I’m a custom to I felt right at home! Last week before my wedding in Bridport, Dorset I got the pleasure of meeting several talented photographers from all over the United Kingdom. Jo Pearce arranged everything and Stewart and Anna Cooper were nice enough to open up their home. The photo is courtesy of Stewart Randall and Sarah and Charlie had to jet before the photo was taken. Thanks for the local brews and fish and chips, it was great hanging out with you guys!
Livea and Carl had an amazing English Country-style wedding on a family farm in Dorset, England. The Catholic Mass Ceremony was held at St. Ignius in Chiedok. The morning preparation started out great with blue skies and a lovely breeze. By 2PM the rain had set in hard and heavy! Our hopes of shooting outside at Mapperton Manor were fading. Which by the way is occupied by Lord and Lady John Sandwich, delightful people. They are relatives of the famous Earl of Sandwich. We decided to drive to the manor in and despite the rain. By the time we got there the rain had subsided and we had small windows between showers to shoot. I made the best of it and Livea and Carl were champs! Caitlin did more umbrella holding and running than shooting on this one. She still got a few money shots too! After Mapperton is was on to the reception at the farm. Everyone did an amazing job preparing the barn. They built, hung lighting, cleaned, fabricated and etc… It all paid off, it was beautiful. Check out some of my favorites from the day.
Yesterday after I arrived at Heathrow I decided to stop off at Windsor Castle for a few shots. The clouds were awesome but the weather in England can and did change in a minute. The wind just moves the clouds and rain through so quickly, you never know!
Driving in Dublin was very strange considering I had to sit on the right side of the car, shift with the left hand, drive on the left side of the road, and look the opposite way for on coming traffic. That’s not to mention all the round a-bouts! I’m kind of used to those considering I do live in Ladera Ranch and last year I ripped up the Arc ‘d Triumph!
Paula and Eamonn had a great wedding in Ireland! Paula’s hometown is Tralee which is located in Kerry County and Eamonn’s family came down from Donegal! This was a pretty cool Irish wedding with lots of awesome traditional music and dancing. During the ceremony several people sang songs including; Paula’s sisters, an Aunt, a quartet, and the couple. Paula and Eamonn sang a song that was written for them by the Priest, they are both classical Opera singers. The weather was crazy! It was raining before we got to the church and after the ceremony, then later at the castle is was beautiful! The reception was held at Ballyseede Castle on the edge of town. Below are some of my favorites, enjoy!
This was one of my favorite images from the day! It was raining the entire time we were in the church, very grey and overcast, then the sun burst through the skylight just as the couple were singing their song… Amazing!
Aurther, the Ballyseede’s mascot! He was huge!
So if you’ve ever wondered how they cut a cake at a castle, there you have it! They really didn’t use a sword but the location had it out for that reason…
