Katie and David’s wedding went so smoothly on Saturday! Everything fell into place at Miller Place and the First Baptist Church of Patchogue. Katie and the girls got ready at the Miller Place Inn where the reception was to be held. The bridal room had a sweet chase lounge and my first notion was to take it into the main room for the natural light and to shoot with the chandlers. However, Brody and I couldn’t get it out the door due to the odd size. So that forced me to shoot it in a different style and I’m glad! Brody had his light setup which worked out better than the normal 580s that I would use. He has a sweet little bare bulb Sunpak setup with a snoot that gave us a great 30s, 40s flare! After the bubble send off at the church, David and Katie drove off in a sweet ’64.5 cherry red, Mustang convertible. They stopped to get a few shots and I hopped in the back for a quick motion blur photo from the back seat. For you photographers out there, most of these shots were post-processed with the new Totally Rad Action Set V2, check it out! Here are some of my favorites, enjoy!

(Left to Right) Future bride, current bride, past bride!

I was in NYC earlier this week for a consultation, engagement session, and maybe a Reds vs Yankee game! We had beautiful weather all week as we shot and scoured the city for fun and food. We had some great eats including; Dim Sum with my family in Chinatown, Bo Ky (Wonton egg noodle soup with special hot sauce), The Spotted Pig (One of the best burgers in Manhattan and where we met up with Nicolette and Tom clients in October), Famous Ray’s Pizza, and more. One night we went to a “Speakeasy”, a very cool and chill place. You enter into a swanky underground bar through a door marked “Lower East Side Toy Company”. It’s so indiscreet off a small side street. They also service the boos in tin milk cups and coffee saucers with complete with a dish. Shhhhhh….
Anyway, my buddy Brody Wheeler (What a cool cowboy name!) drove down from Buffalo to hand out and shoot the wedding with me on Saturday. Check out the wedding post next!

It was a great day out in Palos Verdes last month, you could actually see Catalina Island! One thing I love about Los Verdes GC is they give you a couple golf carts and turn you loose on the course for photos. I got one unique shot this time, a perspective that had not seen before. Thanya was a major do it yourself bride and she did an awesome job. All her hard work paid-off for a fabulous event! The girls got ready over in Redondo Beach at the Porotfino Hotel which provided some great shots as well.

Here’s another quick guest book design… Desiree wanted to do a semiformal “weddingish” beach shoot since her wedding will be in the desert. This time I created a custom textured/patterned background to go along with the feel of their wedding. The wedding is a the Wynn in Las Vegas over 4th of July weekend. It’s estimated to be a 700 person event with some awesome vendors. Check back for those photos in a few weeks. Click on the photo or HERE to see the full layout. Enjoy!

I don’t go to the beach much any more for engagement sessions but it seems I’ve been a few times recently. I try to mix it up and hit different beaches each time, hopefully until the next year… And with the weather, tide, and environment each shoot becomes it’s own. I’m making this post for Jamie and Scott’s book design. Scott is from New Zealand and Jamie grew up in Orange County so I decided to express that in their guest book. Below is the front and back cover, click on the photo or HERE to see the full design. Enjoy!

I shot Jamie and David’s wedding a few weeks ago with a crazy travel experience trying to get to San Francisco. Forgetting my ID and not realizing it until I was at the Long Beach airport was just the tip of the iceberg. Thanks to my wife and the Pingols for bailing me out of a jam. I can’t speak enough about how much I love San Francisco! It’s not only a great place to shoot but an awesome place to eat, find inspiration, sight see and relax. Jamie and David did a traditional Chinese banquet style reception for 400 guest; however, we got to shoot early in the day to capture some less traditional photos. A lot of our shoot was at the Legion of Honor which has awesome architecture and over looks the Golden Gate Bridge. Then in Chinatown we got a little urban San Francisco feel including a trolly car. Enjoy…
