“Chicago, chicago that toddling town
Chicago, chicago Ill show you around – I love it”
Alicia and Brett had a great wedding last Saturday! It was just one of those day. You know the kind where everything went our way! Time, locations, weather… We started on Michigan Ave. at the Intercontinental Hotel which by the way has a Zeppelin landing dock… I learned that on the river boat architecture tour that I highly recommend!!! Anyway, most of the wedding party and guest were staying here. The wedding count was 175 and about 110 were from out of town. Alicia is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and Brett from St. Louis. They had people from Sweden, Hong Kong, and coast to coast. The hotel was an awesome place to shoot. On the 12th floor there was a killer pool and it provided a secluded place to do the first meeting on a busy Memorial Day weekend. I also stole a few shots of Alicia as we were waiting for Brett. Kenny Kim shot with me all day and we had a great time! After a short stop at the beach and in the Fulton Market area we head for the conservatory. Check out some of my favorite shots from the day, it was tough to chose. So CLICK HERE for the SLIDESHOW.

Bridals
I shot Alicia’s bridal session last fall in Chicago and this coming weekend is the wedding.
You have to love the Midwest weather. Meteorologist have the only job that I know who can always be wrong but still keep their job and get paid for it! Anyway, we kind of got a late started around 1PM and it was sprinkling rain as we pulled up to Buckingham Fountain. I chose to start there because we had a really cool lighting situation with the sky over the lake being stormy and dark, then the sun started breaking through in the city. The awesome thing was nobody was in the park which was very unusual!
After a slightly unplanned detour we made it to the second location, the planetarium with the typical Chicago skyline view. Then we headed back down to the meat packing district and on to Wrigley Field to finish the shoot. Check it out…

Engagement
Last week I was in New York City for a bit of business and to fulfill my groomsman duties in my buddy Vinny’s wedding. I’ll post those photos late next week. I love shooting in Manhattan, there is so much everywhere! Below are a few photos from each session. Tom and Nicolette’s wedding is at the Langham in the fall and Katie and David’s in Long Island this summer. Enjoy…

Wedding
Nancy and Joe came out from Omaha for their wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel last week. It was very simple and elegant! Nancy wore an awesome Monique Lhuillier dress! It perfect shooting a couple or small group around the Beverly Hills Hotel, there are so many hidden spots tucked away among the famous bungalows. Carolyn Chen and her Special Day crew kept the hectic day sailing smooth. We had an awesome team including: Elysium Productions, Enchanted Florist, and The Cake Studio.

Wedding
We had a wonderful wedding at Seven Degrees last week. Stacy and the girls got ready down at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel. It starting to get crazy busy through Laguna, starting this time of year and last to the end of the summer. It’s due to beach goes, performances, art walks, and festivals so take that in consideration on the wedding day! Stacy and Mike were very chill and we had a lot of fun with the bridal party. My buddy and DJ extraordinare Jason Jass kept the night rolling! Kevin Covey and his staff coordinated an excellent event as always and he was also a special guest, long time friend of the bride. Seven Degrees is a great place to make photos, but be careful with the sparkler exit, ouch! Check it out…

Check out that amazing cake by Linda Goldsheft from The Cake Studio. Jason spinning and mix; whatever he does…
