Engagement
Last Sunday we were on the fence all day whether or not to cancel our session due to the on and off again rain. Good thing we didn’t, we had an awesome shoot at the Getty! The lighting was beautiful! Lindsay and Steven are getting married in April at Shutter’s Hotel in Santa Monica. It will be a fabulous event with a great wedding crew so stay tuned for that post!

Last weekend I shot a cool session in Palm Springs at the super funky and eclectic Parker Hotel. It will be great to shoot a wedding there one day! Sue and David went with a more formal look in their shoot and we have a small follow up session in Las Vegas next month. They got engaged at the Parker Hotel about a year ago. Their wedding is in August at the Hotel Bel Air. Enjoy!

I couldn’t resist this shot, it was like “cue the lady from the ’70s walking the dogs”…

I have a great technique for isolated color using the “Color Range” in PS. There were so many colors in this room! I chose orange mainly because the texture of the throw pillows and I like the depth with the lamp shades, the fire in the background and the glass bottles up top.

A few weeks ago I was in San Diego to attend Jay Reilly’s open house and had the chance to take a couple snaps for my friends Amy and Maurice. They are on the verge of a major re-branding so I was delighted to help with the photos that will be on their new website! Check them out at some of their favorite spots downtown.

I shot a wedding in San Dimas today and the reception was in Fullerton at the Summit House. It was a bit rainy throughout the day but we manged to get all our shots and stay pretty dry. Today’s wedding post will come later this week. However, today reminded me of an awesome wedding I shot last year on a rainy day. Jennifer and Jason also came to mind today because she tends the main restaurant’s bar at the Summit House. Check out there album from April 22, 2007, CLICK HERE
The coin on spread two has an awesome story behind it! Enjoy…

Last week I attended a charity event for an organization called ‘Heart for Africa’. It was held at the Renaissance in Dana Point, this place has good food and live music 7 days a week! I believe the event was a success and the team is now in Kenya to help the Emmanuel Children’s Home in Nairobi. For updates on their trip visit Triple Cord Photography’s Blog.

Nicole and Twan’s wedding is in April at La Venta Inn and they were my second engagement session over the weekend. We met in Venice to shoot some fun, funky walls but there were cars and people in most of the areas which made it a bit more challenging. I guess that’s what happens on an 80 degree day in February, people get out of the house! So try to schedule your engagement session during the week it’s better all around. Check it out…

The cool thing is when I hit this area once or twice a year the walls are always re-painted different colors!

I love the phone booth. Maybe I’ll shoot one in London soon!

This is the “top” photo…

This is where they had one of their first dates. I love the people watching in the background!

Ana and Joe’s wedding is coming up very quickly in February! We shot in the beautiful city of Pasadena. We started at City Hall and made our way down to “Old Town” via some back alleys and hidden spots that I like to shot. It’s great to have a variety of backgrounds and textures in such a close proximity. Then I photograph a different combination each time I shoot in the area all due to; the light, crowds, cars parked in MY alleys! and etc…

This shot is by one of my favorite Italian Cafes in “Old Town”!

We got busted for shooting upstairs…

The architecture at City Hall is awesome, look at that detail in the ceiling, the arches, clock, hanging lanterns, and the fountain in the distance.

One day I’ll actually go in this antique shop but for now I’ll just us the wrought iron window treatment as a background.

Here’s a wedding a shot a while back but the couple recently picked out the photos. I was really excited to design their album because it’s about 70 pages so I was able to use a ton of photos! A lot more than the average book that we normally design. The specs are as follows: Graphi Studio 12×12 Square, Crystal Glance Cover, Textured Paper. Check it out at the link below:
