“Omahaaaaa, somewhere in middle America…” Counting Crows… Anyway, I didn’t really know what to expect out of the sleepy mid-west town but I was pleasantly surprised! Besides great steaks and friendliness, Omaha had a great nightlife in the “Old Town Market” area. Then just across the river is Council Bluffs, Iowa home to several riverboat casinos. My buddy Mac came up from Kansas city on Saturday night to hang out. You might remember his sister’s wedding in Cape Code last summer, he married the couple. We had a great meal at Sullivan’s Steak House, then we hit the Old Market Tavern, and we finally ended up at Harrah’s for some Pow Gai!
I had a blast in Omaha with Nancy and Joe. Shooting their session around Omaha was a real treat. We started out on the farm where Nancy grew-up. Then headed over to Joe’s awesome pad before we slipped back into town to a few sentimental places for the couple. We had lunch and shot at M’s Pub where Nancy and Joe first met, then we walked around the market photographing before finishing our session at their favorite dessert spot “The French Cafe.” I can’t wait for their wedding in April at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

View of the Missouri River Valley from the farm.

The old barn was converted to a sweet party pad!

I was diggin’ the Moose head. I wonder if Rach would left me put one in the living room???

M’s Pub where Joe and Nancy first met, in those very seats…

The French Cafe was awesome, we had it all to ourselves before they opened for dinner.

Norwood,
You have to shoot some in “Old Town Market” for sure! Great area! You must have a steak as well. I recommend Sullivan’s get the Cowboy Rib-eye, medium rare. I started with some bourbon and crab claws! vcs
I’m shooting a wedding in Omaha in a few weeks. Its nice to hear that its not a bad place to shoot. I was a little worried.
So amazing! I just love, love, love your work!
These have such a relaxing down-home feeling. Great job. -E
Hey Steve,
Thanks for the heads up! Always appreciated! Yeah, the table one is one of my favorites too. Thanks for the comment and checking out the blog. vcs
OK… had to comment on this one…
My favorite by far is the one where they’re leaning on the black mesh table. They could use that for just about anything. Love the cafe shots as well. Good Job. –Steve
