January 2008

“Omahaaaaa, somewhere in middle America…” Counting Crows… Anyway, I didn’t really know what to expect out of the sleepy mid-west town but I was pleasantly surprised! Besides great steaks and friendliness, Omaha had a great nightlife in the “Old Town Market” area. Then just across the river is Council Bluffs, Iowa home to several riverboat casinos. My buddy Mac came up from Kansas city on Saturday night to hang out. You might remember his sister’s wedding in Cape Code last summer, he married the couple. We had a great meal at Sullivan’s Steak House, then we hit the Old Market Tavern, and we finally ended up at Harrah’s for some Pow Gai!
I had a blast in Omaha with Nancy and Joe. Shooting their session around Omaha was a real treat. We started out on the farm where Nancy grew-up. Then headed over to Joe’s awesome pad before we slipped back into town to a few sentimental places for the couple. We had lunch and shot at M’s Pub where Nancy and Joe first met, then we walked around the market photographing before finishing our session at their favorite dessert spot “The French Cafe.” I can’t wait for their wedding in April at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The French Cafe was awesome, we had it all to ourselves before they opened for dinner.

After shooting an engagement session in Mammoth we took advantage of some sledding time. It snowed on us almost everyday last week. The kids had a blast!

Our last morning in Aspendell, it snowed all night so we had some fresh powder for sledding.

I had the pleasure to photograph Peter and Kira’s engagement session in Mammoth last weekend. It snowed both almost everyday we were there which was awesome! It was challenging to shoot because the weather changed so quickly. The wind was brutal in the evening. There wedding is in March at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles.

Enjoy!

I’m headed out to Tampa for the PPA trade show on Sunday. I’ll be there a few days promoting our ImageX – New Orleans workshop and helping the Boutwells with the “Totally Rad Action” booth. We’ll be at booth #203 at the Marriott Marina Convention, stop by and see us for a demo and also pick-up some custom action recipe cards!

Well it’s been a crazy and awesome year! I pulled through with my wedding number 51 last Saturday, WOW! Cindy, Boyd and their bridal parties were are blast to work with and it’s always fun shooting at [seven-degrees]. The staff there makes is so easy and the food is awesome! JP Reynolds did a beautiful ceremony, his first time a [seven-degrees]. The reception has killer light here and the dancing is always fun to shoot. You get sweet color in the background on everything. Red Cheese photobooth kept the crowd entertained during dinner. I also got to work with my good friend and DJ extraordinare Jason Jass of Visions Entertainment who also happens to be getting married this weekend. So Jason and Sarah will be my first rockin’ wedding of 2008!
