Here are a few shots from Sunday’s wedding at the St. Regis. Florence and Nelson had a beautiful wedding in a beautiful setting. The Grand Lawn and the St. Regis is one of my favorite ceremony sites. Gini Garner planned an awesome suprise dove release requested by the groom. There were 40 doves released as they were pronounced husband and wife. I fired about 28 frames with my new Mark III!

This past weekend was a long wedding weekend but a great one! We had beautiful weather both Saturday and Sunday. Kim and Dan got hitched at the Hyatt in Huntington Beach on Saturday. We had a blast shooting, everyone in the bridal party was a natural in front of the camera. We had a great crew on the job as well. I got to work with my buddy and videographer Alex from Elysium Productions, coordinator Marla Lackey, and a really cool steel drum band Pan Jive! Check out a few of my favorites from the day…

Last Sunday I shot at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel. Krystle and Kevin were out here getting married from Chicago. I shot their engagement session after my sister’s wedding in June the same day that I got my iPhone. I was lucky to be in Chicago at the time it came out! The Apple store there is huge and had the stock to fill the demand. Anyway, pink was the color of the day the florist did an amazing job! It was a pleasure to work with Lisa Simpson for the second consecutive weekend, my favorite make-up artist Sherry McAnelly was also on the scene and Ashley Video handled the moving cinema. Krystle looked absolutely stunning, wow, what a bride! The guys cleaned up pretty good too. Check out some of my favorites below.

I worked hard on Saturday and Sunday, it was a long weekend! Don’t get me wrong I love weddings but it was time for a little “Man” time. So I decided to go fishing out of Point Loma with my buddy Joe Latter. We got to the dock about 9PM on Sunday night and loaded the Eldorado an 85 foot sport-fisher for a day and a half trip. We woke up at sea in Mexican waters about 50 miles from San Diego on Monday morning at gray-light looking for fish. Below are a couple shots of Joe and I with our catch, not great compared to other trips but equally as fun and tasty. This was my first Yellowtail catch so the crew made me eat the heart, it was about the size of a golf ball! I did it like a champ, one of the deck hands said it was the best he had ever seen someone take down the heart, one of the other guys barfed trying.

For the sushi lovers out there, this is what a Yellowtail or Hamachi looks like fresh from the ocean.

Here’s some Yellowtail sashimi, rolls, and spicy Yellowtail that I made last night.

Today’s wedding was absolutely amazing and soooo much fun to shoot! Carolyn Chen was the coordinator but also the maid of honor, Rosanne’s big sister. I had two other couples at the wedding too. It’s always fun to catch up with clients from the past. We had a great crew today and the venue was awesome, so different, the arcitechure made for some abstract backgrounds and nice composition. Here was the line-up: Nisie – Enchanted Florist, Wildflower Linens, DV Artistry, String Theory, Red Shoe DJ, Joyce Luck Style, Chameleon Chair, Red Cheese and Sweet Divas. Here are few of my favorites of Rosanne and then check out the sideshow below for the day recap, enjoy!

The new issue of “Bride and Bloom” Magazine came out last week. We had a feature from last summer, Michelle and Jimmy – August 8th at the Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach. We had a great wedding crew, check out a copy at your local book store or news stand! (Southern California Only)

I’m a little behind on the wedding posts due to not having internet access in Colorado, Oregon, or Washington. I’m glad I could stay in touch with my iPhone! I’ve been all over in the last week. I will catch up with my next post but I had to get the 7/7/07 wedding up, it’s the most popular day of the century! I didn’t want anyone to think I wasn’t working… Anyway, Janelle and Chris were married south of Portland close to Corvalis where they meet and attended Oregon State, GO BEAVERS! We got to shoot some in the football stadium as too. Janelle is one of my best friend’s (Jared) youngest sister so it was a great chance to catch up with the Powell family. Love you guys!
