Liz and Peter – Mother’s Day

Last Sunday on Mother’s Day I shot Liz and Peter’s wedding at Palos Verdes Golf Course. We had an absolutely beautiful day! We had plenty of time before the ceremony so we checked out a few locations off the property. One great thing about working there was they turned us loose with a golf cart! Probably not too smart if they knew the way I drive… I got to chauffeur my couple to hole #15 to shoot with this huge tree overlooking the ocean. The sun was in a tough spot so I took a different approach foregoing the water in the background. Check out a few of my favorites from the day.

Do any photographers have any opinions on the above photo? I was trying a new action that I’m in the process of developing. CLICK HERE for the original image.

Victor,
If you have a mailing list of any kind for things that you are creating, I would love to be added to it. The more I look back at that image, the more I like it…It has somewhat of a timeless quality to it.

Thanks,
Shannon

Shannon, thanks for the feedback on the image! I am developing this action for my new set hopefully available in the fall sometime. I wanted to create a sort of surreal image that looks like it was printed on an aged off white paper and very contrasty!

Joe, yes the photo is very gritty like a chalk drawing… The high resolution version you can see quite a bite of film grain which ads a nice look, especially in the highlights.

I am not a pro photographer quite yet, but I thought I would leave a comment about the photo that you asked for comments about…I Love the look!!!! I feel like that action gives the picture a somewhat “evening” yet somewhat of a contrasty feel. Again, I LOVE IT!!!
