I figured I would make one more post before heading to Vegas this week for the annual photography convention WPPI. There are several classes, events, competitions, and of course the trade show through out the week. I was chosen, along with three other photographers to shoot the “Day in the Life” of WPPI book this year which is printed by my album company, Graphi Studio. If anyone will be in town this week that I’m not already seeing or scheduled to meet feel free to shoot me an email and maybe we can get together. (vcs@vcsphoto.com) Anyway, this is Asa first year in tee ball and it is going pretty well and as good as it can for this age. He’s attention to the game is not always there and he’s pretty much done by the last inning and they only play four! However, he’s having fun and learning a lot too so that’s the goal to get him interested…

Hello everyone, I am back in Orange Co. and am making the final post from yesterday’s shots in Paris. I will probably do a web gallery and make a post in April with more extensive shots that you can check out with everything from this year and last. I met up with Jenny for luch, my former host student, she lived with us for nine months when we were in Glendora while she attended Citrus College to study English. She is now working as a flight attendant for Corsair. We did some power touring we made it out to Cheateu du Versailles, Picasso Musuem, Notre Dame again, Eiffel Tower again, Pont Alexandre III, and the Luvre. After dinner we met up with Antione another friend from Paris and had a couple drinks with some live music which was a great mix of American and French cover songs!

Well we have two days left in France for this trip and we are spending them nowhere else but Paris! Today we walked more that 600 steps in total making out way to the top of Notre Dame and the Arch de Triomphe. It was an amazing view from both but very cold and windy. The weather is strange in France during the month of March. Almost everyday it has been beautiful in the early morning, raining by noon, snowing/sleeting in the afternoon and the sun pops out during the sunset. Very odd but great for photos! Check it out and more tomorrow!

The last two days we have been in a city in Burgundy named Beaune. It is famous for the roof style and Bordeaux! We did some wine tasting and also toured Dijon. Most of these shots are of small villages from the “Wine Road” from Beaune to Dijon. The next posts will come from Paris!

Saturday night and Sunday morning we were in Marseille. We watched Marseille vs Nice (3/0) soccer match and had one of the best steak sandwiches ever, we dubbed it ‘the Velodrome’.
This cathedral ‘Notre Dame de la Garde’ sits on the highest part of Marseille, overlooking the city. We ran to the station to catch the 7:55 train to Dijon to meet our friends in Beaune: Check out the shots from Burgundy tomorrow! Au revoir et bisous…

This morning we covered a little ground but the weather hasn’t been that great for photography. It’s been very hazy and the light is very flat. However, we have manged to get a few shots. We are now off to Marseille to drop our car and catch a “Football” match! Then tomorrow to Barcelona!

Here’s a quick post before we catch the a shuttle boat to St. Tropez! Check out the famous Monte Carlo Casino. I can see why Monaco wants their independence from the rest of the world. They have a nice slice of the pie! However, our experience there wasn’t the best so far; it was way expensive, touristy, and the people were not the friendlist. To beat all no football allowed on the streets! Stay tuned for a post from St. Tropez…

When we got to Nice on the Wednesday the 14th it was night so ate at on the harbor at Le Barque Bleu. I love the seating outside on all the walkways, it’s great just people watching and enjoying your surroundings. This morning we were up at 5:30 AM and were out the door by a quarter til. We took off on foot toward Mont Alban Castle, which we thought was a 15 minute walk. We end up walking halfway to Monaco! After getting back to town we probably walked over 10 miles before 9 AM. We stopped by the hotel for our FREE breakfast and then headed over to the Promenade des Anglais, Cháteau Hill, and Cours Saleya (Old Town). In ‘Old Town’ we enjoyed the open air market and had an espresso at one of the cafe’s, Les Ponchettes. Check out some of the photos…

Nice in the morning around 6:15 AM.

Wedding
Abigail and Gary had a very relaxed wedding on Sunday at the St. Regis, the only thing that was intense was the SUN! It was almost 90 degrees… I worked with Ruth from Plan to Perfection, Julie and Kyle from Elysium Productions, and Nisie from Enchanted Florist provide the decor, just a great crew. Thanks to my brother-in-law of Evoke Photography, I didn’t have to drive from south Orange Co. to Walnut, back to the St. Regis, then back to Walnut for the Tea Ceremony, and then home. Mike took care of Abigail’s prep at their home at 7 AM, with the time change that meant 6 AM. Check out a few shots, my favorites are with the Harley for sure…

The St. Regis Rotunda is always a great photo opt.

I love this shot! It’s not even sharp but who cares, it’s got style. Julie was driving me beside them on through the neighborhood.

I know it’s past Christmas but I figured I would share the family photo for those of you who didn’t get a Christmas card. Someone told us they thought we looked like a band and this was an album cover… That would be great but the only instrument I can play is the “cowbell!”
Front Cover: 5×5 folded card with uneven fold (1″ reveal)

Inside Card: Short Version

Back: I always try to do something funny on the back
